David Baena ha presentat dos dels últims treballs en marxa de BCQ a la darrera edició de Grandes Proyectos de Arquitectura Barcelona, esdeveniment organitzat per Grupo Vía, que aquest dimarts 21 de novembre ha reunit a una selecció de nou despatxos de la ciutat per compartir els seus últims treballs en curs tant dins com fora de la capital catalana.
Un dels projectes exposats pel soci fundador de BCQ va ser el futur Hotel Bitágora en Viladecans, un nou hotel quatre estrelles superior de 12 plantes i 204 habitacions que comptarà amb espais d'ús comercial en el conjunt Bitàgora al costat del Parc de la Marina i el Viladecans Business Park. El volum del nou hotel es planteja com un volum icònic que no obstant això, és permeable en planta baixa doncs podrà ser travessat comunicant l'espai urbà amb el parc.
Per altra banda es va presentar també l'últim concurs guanyat de l'estudi, la Nova Biblioteca Gabriel Ferrater a Sant Cugat del Vallès. Aquest edifici es planteja semienterrat sota el parc amb una organització senzilla en horitzontal a través d'una planta principal i una planta primera o altell, i amb la coberta enjardinada, el que converteix la biblioteca en un edifici especialment sostenible i que permet mantenir així l'espai verd existent.
David Baena has explained two of the latest BCQ works in progress in the last edition of Grandes Proyectos de Arquitectura Barcelona, an event organized by Grupo Vía, which this Tuesday November 21, has brought together a selection of nine offices in the city to share their latest works both inside and outside the Catalan capital.
One of the projects presented by the founding partner of BCQ was the new Hotel Bitàgora in Viladecans, a new four-star superior hotel with 12 floors and 204 rooms that will have commercial use spaces in the Viladecans Bitàgora complex, next to the La Marina Park and the Viladecans Business Park. The volume of the new hotel is considered as an iconic volume that, nevertheless, is permeable on the ground floor, because it can be crossed communicating the urban space with the park.
On the other hand, the last competition won by the studio, the New Gabriel Ferrater Library in Sant Cugat del Vallès, was also featured. This building is planned underground in the park with a simple organization in horizontal through a main floor and a first floor or mezzanine. With a landscaped roof, it makes the library a particularly sustainable building that allows to maintain the existing green space too.
